Take Care of Your Oral Health

General Dentistry

Oral Hygiene

Taking care of your oral health is one of the most important things you can do for your overall health.

We recommend regular dental checkups at least twice per year. At each checkup, we perform an oral exam to check for gum disease, tooth decay, and cancer risk.

Brush and floss twice per day to decrease your risk of developing dental problems. Eat a well-balanced diet and avoid sugary and acidic foods and drinks to help slow dental decay.

Digital X-Rays

X-rays capture images of your teeth and gums to aid your dentist in evaluating oral health and identifying any problems you may be experiencing. For your safety, our office only uses digital x-rays because they produce 80% less radiation compared to traditional x-rays.

Fluoride Treatments

Fluoride treatments help to strengthen your tooth’s enamel and lessen the risk of tooth decay. We recommend treatment for children and adults alike. We can also provide special toothpaste with higher fluoride for home use if you are experiencing dry mouth or increased dental decay.

Sealants

Sealants are a brushed coating that flows into the deep grooves of your back teeth. This sealing process helps to prevent bacteria from becoming trapped in the grooves of your teeth and prevents overall decay.

Periodontal (Gum) Therapy

Your gums support and protect your teeth and underlying bone. Gum disease is one of the leading causes of tooth loss in adults. We offer preventative services to keep your gums healthy in advance and treatment for when gum disease has already struck.

Root Canals

If you’re experiencing pain in your tooth, fever symptoms, swelling, and a bad taste or odor, you could have an infection in your tooth’s central nerve/blood vessel (known as the pulp). This happens when decay reaches the nerve chamber of your tooth. A root canal procedure can help save your tooth when it has been infected instead of completely extracting it.

Extractions

Our goal is to help save your teeth for a lifetime, but sometimes tooth extractions are necessary. Some reasons for extraction include tooth decay or trauma, severe gum disease, impacted teeth, and others. We’ll take x-rays and evaluate your teeth before we recommend extraction.
